Event Notes
Good Reception
November 1991, Pine Forest Country Club, Houston, Texas.
Wedding reception concert for Kevin and Angie. The Blanks rocked too loud for some country club patrons in an adjoining restaurant. Despite being told to stop, the band kept rockin' making for an infamous standoff ending to this wild show. Recording released as The Blanks Live: Good Reception.
Spring Woods High School
May 1989, Ms. Hibbert's Drama Room Stage, Houston, Texas.
The Blanks performed a special show in the drama room at Spring Woods High School for Ms. Hibbert's class. They intended to play a set of songs from Put on the Featherhead, but due to technical problems they only played an extended instrumental of “Rumpelstiltskin.” Mr. Ed, Ran, and Spike all played drums. Kar played his Moog synthesizer. For the most part, the teacher and students hated the show. Though not in high school, Christopher Araha Arohadej attended and provided much needed support by dancing about and exciting the students. Regretfully, there is no recording of this show.
The Axiom
January 1989, Houston, Texas.

Classic show supporting the Put on the Featherhead release. The Blanks opened for Big Snuffy and the Change. A majority of the crowd was there to see The Blanks. For some reason the band didn't have “Phuong Nam's” on the original set list but played it when fans demanded an encore. This is generally regarded as the band's best public live show. Unfortunately, there is no audio or video recording of it.

Drum Room Studios Private Show
Summer 1988, Drum Room Studios, Houston, Texas.
Private, small performance in the large studio of Drum Room Studios. Not recorded. This is where The Blanks problems with people talking during “Phuong Nam's” escalated.
Live to the Spirit World
Summer 1988, Drum Room Studios, Houston, Texas.
The Blanks performed on the balcony of the large studio of Drum Room Studios. This show had great audience response. Released on audio and video cassette.
Garden Hose Interview
1984, Old House Studios, Houston, Texas.
The Blanks have done a number of interviews, but the “Garden Hose Interview” is the most famous. Kar, Ran, and Spike announced the departure of singer Christopher Araha Arohadej. He left much like founding member Jimmy had a couple of years earlier – denouncing the band and claiming credit for other's successes. Without a microphone, the remaining line-up took turns talking into a garden hose to address questions on the lawn of Old House Studios. The event was not recorded and there was no one in attendance other than the band.
Live at Bibby's Show Palace
1984, Bibby's Show Palace, Houston, Texas.
Concert benefiting ill-fallen Jeb. Recording released as Live at Bibby's Show Palace. Now out of print, the master recording and all copies have since been lost. Luckily, the first two songs from the show were perserved on one edition of A Turn and a Halt....
Trashrock Christmas
1983, Old House Studios, Houston, Texas.
Christmas concert featuring many special guests. Recording released as Blanks IV – Trashrock Christmas With The Blanks.
Blanks Tour the Mall
1983, A shopping mall in Houston, Texas.
Unplanned speaking engagement. Released as the spoken word album Blanks Tour the Mall.
Power Ring Concert
1983, Las Vegas via Old House Studios, Houston, Texas.
Released as Blanks III – Power Ring Concert, this famous concert for a Las Vegas audience was actually performed and recorded by The Blanks at Old House Studios in Houston, Texas. Spike belts out a classic version of “Spider Woman.” Some favorites are revisited for the live show including “She's a Dog” and “King Fred.” The “Power Rings” that band members wore gave them the inspiration and drive to rock hard.
