1989: Put on the Featherhead released on cassette, Blanks Enterprises.
1991: Long Ride on a Slow Horse released on cassette, Blanks Enterprises.
2006: Reissue compact disc, Blanks Enterprises.
This double-CD has two of the greatest Blanks albums. We packaged them together because they complement each other and they're often referred to as our winter albums (due to the time of year they were recorded). They have a different feel than other albums we made during that era - rawer, more rock 'n' roll, more roots oriented. And we've always thought they were both heavily underrated as albums ... even though they each had hit singles. I think this CD will become a favorite of fans. It's just outstanding.
Also, unlike other releases of the time, neither of these albums were released with cover art. In 2006, Ran and I worked on reissue cover concepts for each of these albums. We based them on original Blanks-related artwork by Ran from the time. You'll find each cover's art origin on the website that is, the Put on the Featherhead cover was based on the Axiom concert flyer from the album's supporting tour, and the Long Ride on a Slow Horse cover was based on the Young Love (The Square) comic inspired by the song from that album. I think the covers reflect each time period well.
