This collection presents two great companions albums – Bean Monster Rituals and Kill Me Hot Chocolate. We originally released this collection in 1998 to mark the 10th anniversary of our first trip to Sugar Hill Studios. It represents all our work at this famous studio. These were our early attempts at using hi-tech recording processes and gear; a time before we really knew how to finesse the power of such resources. The recordings' fates were put in the hands of J.R. Griffith, a good engineer ... who never really understood what we were trying to achieve. I recently listened to the rehearsal tapes for these sessions, and we had clearly envisioned a more rocking outcome. However, all this made for two outstanding albums that would have been very different if made at any other time, in any other studio, and with any other engineer.

I remixed the popular “Phuong Nam's” single from Bean Monster Rituals to provide a unique bonus track for this compact disc release. Years later, it still holds up and you may hear it at your local dance clubs to this day.

In 2008, I remastered this collection. Even though these albums were already reissued, I wanted to update it to fit in with our modern reissues with better sonic quality and packaging. I hope you like the results.
