This single was recorded with Mr. Ed. Basically, we were all together one day when we heard the splatter of vomit on the ground. We turned to see a guy bent over a puddle of puke. We recruited Mr. Ed and recorded the song. It was his first recording with the band. This song went on to become a huge hit as well.
We were flying pretty high at this time but didn't think much about the future of The Blanks. I guess we were still looking at all this stuff as just a series of one-time projects. I think we had begun to really appreciate our older work and wanted to use Blanks Enterprises and our newfound success to give the older music more exposure. It was the kind of deal where we were more of a business group than a band at this point. We weren't planning tours or thinking about the future at all.
Spike
I was in the same studio in which Spike, Kone, Wicker, and I had created the sounds of Revelations, Just Add Water and My Plaid Daughter. Only now I was with The Blanks. I felt that my guitar part for Let's Vomit was sort of a rip off of several hard-core punk songs I had heard in the past. To be honest, I felt like I should have done more. I was worried that The Blanks were just being nice when they told me they liked the stuff I wrote, so I only timidly accepted their compliments, certain that I had failed the audition.
