This includes discussions about the state of The Blanks and rival band Insanity Plea started by ex-Blank Mark Miller. It's an excellent peak into the world of The Blanks in 1984. Ran and I were much more serious about this recording than Spike. He was off playing around. I think we even questioned his commitment to the band on the recording.

You may notice that this is the only release where Kone is listed as a band member and not a guest. It was decided that Kone would join the band, but that quickly dissolved after the making of this recording. He did record some songs with us, but never as an official band member.

In remastering this album in 2008, I've heard it quite a few times. It's a very strange, spoken-word album, making the case for why Insanity Plea copied The Blanks (and were also not a good band). There is some nice stuff here. The “Band History” track and the ones about previous albums are a treasure, talking about old history and shedding light on events of the time.

Even though Spike wasn't there for the beginning of the recording, he does a great job summarizing the argument against Insanity Plea. Ran and I also spend a few minutes debating whether anyone will ever listen to the tape. We know now that people will, have, and will continue to listen to this great archive for years.
