[to top] Band Memoirs

In 1983, the band was riding high on the new enthusiasm around their debut single “Eggheads.” However, co-founder Jimmy had denounced and left the band after only two songs. Mark Miller and I joined remaining co-founders Dynamic Drew and Ran to form a new line-up. Motivated by an opportunity to play our tape at Becky Jackson's party, we went into Old House Studios to complete The Blanks' first full-length album. The result was a collection of truly inspired material that would define Trask Rock music. The Eggheads album was not commercially successful, but it attracted a small, loyal fanbase calling themselves “eggheads.” We would be glad to have these supporters for the the tough times just around the corner.
